Why canned wine?
Making wine enjoyment more uncomplicated and sustainable – that is Wiihaa’s goal. We are breaking down the fundamentals: high-quality wines no longer have to be drunk from glass bottles that are as thick and heavy as possible. Wiihaa makes good, honest wines from regional Swiss wineries available in the practical format of a 2.5 dl beverage can.
We realize this may take some getting used to. So here we summarize why you should definitely try our canned wine.
Practical and increasingly popular
Canned wine is becoming increasingly popular around the world. Canned wine – in English “canned wine” – is booming. With good reason: conscious wine consumption is becoming increasingly important - consumers would rather drink less, but more regionally and more sustainably. Don't open a whole bottle of wine for dinner at home, combine different wines or enjoy a good wine on the go: wine consumption should be able to be flexibly adapted to individual needs.
One can is exactly the same as two glasses of wine – the ideal portion.
Lots of quality in the can
Wine in cans does not have to compromise on quality or taste compared to wine in glass bottles. The ready-to-drink wine is well protected from air and light in the specially made can. As with bottles, the following obviously applies: wine should always be stored in a cool and dry place.
Our wines can be enjoyed straight from the can. If you like and have the opportunity, you can pour the wine into a glass to enjoy - this way the aromas in the nose and the color come out even better (recommended for our Pinot Noir).
More sustainable
Wine in aluminum cans also offers ecological advantages. For a long time the format was frowned upon. According to several studies, the eco-balance is better than that of common disposable glass bottles. This is due to the good recyclability, lower energy consumption during recycling and more efficient transport.
We come to the conclusion: There is no reason not to drink wine from cans.
